EKU @ Kentucky Counseling Association Conference: A Sneak Peek



The Department of Educational Leaderhsip and Counselor Education will be represented well at the upcoming Kentucky Counseling Association conference to be held in Louisville, Kentucky on November 9-11. Below is a list of presentation topics to be offered by department faculty and doctoral students:

First Annual Youth Mental Health Conference was a SUCCESS!

On April 8th, 2016, EKU cosponsored the first annual Youth Mental Health Conference along with Specialized Alternatives for Families and Youth (SAFY), The Ridge Behavioral Health Systems, and Heather Risk, PsyD & Associates. The conference had approximately 140 attendees from across the commonwealth and resulted in 840 continuing education units being awarded.

Alumni Spotlight: Karen Cook

Karen graduated from EKU's Department of Counseling and Educational Psychology in 1989 with her MEd in School Counseling. She also completed the Individual Intellectual Assessment Endorsement in 1990. 

Alumni Spotlight: Chris Griffith

Chris Griffith

Chris Griffith graduated from Eastern Kentucky University on August 1st, 1996 with a Masters degree in Community Counseling. 

His current title is Program Manager for Family Life Counseling Services, where he was previously a staff Counselor.  He has been employed there for almost 20 years.
